Blues and Royals

£85

Made for & approved by Blues and Royals customers and by the Regimental Adjutant.

The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons) is a cavalry regiment of the British Army and part of the Household Cavalry.

It can trace its lineage all the way back to the New Model Army and was formed in 1969 from the merger of the Royal Horse Guards (the 'Blues') and the Royal Dragoons (the 'Royals').

The Blues and Royals have since seen service in Northern Ireland, Germany, Cyprus, The Falklands, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Colonel-in-Chief is Queen Elizabeth II.

It is the only regiment of the British Army to be known officially by its nickname.

Both Prince William and Prince Harry have served as officers in the Blues and Royals.

The belt is based on the regimental stable belt of blue, red, blue horizontal stripes, both shades being darker than the Foot Guards colours.

Our Blues and Royals belt is hand beaded in Kenya by the Maasai, using an average of 6000 beads.

We use the highest quality leather to ensure our belts are extremely long lasting and durable.

This belt is 1.5 inches wide.

The old Blues and Royals tie is not a tie at all. It’s a Manyatta belt.

IMPORTANT  - HOW TO MEASURE A BELT:

DELIVERY:

We believe in being totally honest with our customers. Like a bespoke suit or pair of shoes, outstanding craftsmanship takes time. When the order is placed, the mamas in Kenya start beading your belt, utilising their cultural and ancestral skills. Once this is complete, the belt is sent to us in the UK. For this reason, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Trust us - it is utterly worth the wait!
