4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards

£85

Created for the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards, a distinguished cavalry regiment of the British Army.

The 4th/7th Dragoon Guards was formed in 1922 in India by the amalgamation of two regiments - the 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards and the 7th (Princess Royal's) Dragoon Guards.

It gained the distinction 'Royal' in 1936.

The 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards saw extensive action in the Second World War, including landing on Gold Beach on 6th June 1944 as part of the D-Day landings.

It was also the first armoured unit to cross the river Seine.

Since then, it has served in Palestine, Libya, Cyprus and Northern Ireland.

The regiment was amalgamated with the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards to form the current Royal Dragoon Guards in 1992.

The belt is in a horizontal design of dark red, cavalry old gold/primrose and black.

All of our 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards belts are hand beaded in Kenya by the Maasai, using an average of 6000 beads.

We use the highest quality leather to ensure our belts are extremely long lasting and durable.

This belt is 1.5 inches wide.

The old 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards tie is not a tie at all. It’s a Manyatta belt.

DELIVERY:

We believe in being totally honest with our customers. Like a bespoke suit or pair of shoes, outstanding craftsmanship takes time. When the order is placed, the mamas in Kenya start beading your belt, utilising their cultural and ancestral skills. Once this is complete, the belt is sent to us in the UK. For this reason, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Trust us - it is utterly worth the wait!
