Old Bedfordian (Bedford School)

Old Bedfordian is the name given to alumni of Bedford School.

Bedford School was founded in the reign of Edward VI, in 1552. The school owes its existence to the generosity of Sir William and Dame Alice Harpur. Their charitable grant of land and finance became the Harpur Trust and their vision continues through scholarships and bursaries.

Boarders were introduced in 1811 and Bedford moved to its current campus in 1891.

The motto of Bedford School is Floreat Schola Bedfordiensis ('May Bedford School flourish').

Notable alumni include John Fowles, Thomas Erskine-May, Paddy Ashdown, Jack Beresford and the England cricket captain Sir Alastair Cook.

The belt is in a vertical design and replicates exactly the old school tie in the correct proportions of blue and white.
