Old Uppinghamian (Uppingham School)

£85

Uppingham is one of the most pre-eminent co-educational boarding schools in the UK, situated in the beautiful market town of Uppingham in Rutland.

It was founded by Robert Johnson, the Archdeacon of Leicester in 1584 as a boys’ only school and it was only in 1974 that girls were admitted.

There are 9 boarding houses for boys and 6 for girls.

Famous Old Uppinghamians include Sir Malcolm Campbell, Jonathan Agnew, Stephen Fry, Boris Karloff, Rick Stein and Phil Spencer.

The belt is designed on the old school tie and features a vertical pattern of green, red and light blue in the same proportions.

All of our belts are hand beaded in Kenya by the Maasai, using an average of 6000 beads.

We use the highest quality leather to ensure our belts are extremely long lasting and durable.

This belt is 1.5 inches wide.

The old Uppingham School tie is not a tie at all. It’s a Manyatta belt.

DELIVERY:

We believe in being totally honest with our customers. Like a bespoke suit or pair of shoes, outstanding craftsmanship takes time. When the order is placed, the mamas in Kenya start beading your belt, utilising their cultural and ancestral skills. Once this is complete, the belt is sent to us in the UK. For this reason, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Trust us - it is utterly worth the wait!
