Old Gregorian (Downside School)

£85

Old Gregorians is the name given to alumni of Downside School, near Bath. On leaving the school, they can become members of St Gregory’s Society, first founded in 1843.

Today, there are around 5000 Old Gregorians and it is a thriving, productive community.

Downside is one of the most pre-eminent Catholic independent schools in the country, established in 1617 by English and Welsh monks.

Today, Downside is run by lay staff.

The Old Gregorian Maasai beaded belt has been designed in conjunction with a prominent OG.

It is horizontal in style and mirrors the Old Gregorian tie of navy blue, gold, red, gold and navy blue.

The Old Gregorian tie is not a tie at all. It’s a Manyatta belt.

All of our belts are hand beaded in Kenya by the Maasai, using an average of 6000 beads.

We use the highest quality leather to ensure our belts are extremely long lasting and durable.

This belt is 1.5 inches wide.

DELIVERY:

We believe in being totally honest with our customers. Like a bespoke suit or pair of shoes, outstanding craftsmanship takes time. When the order is placed, the mamas in Kenya start beading your belt, utilising their cultural and ancestral skills. Once this is complete, the belt is sent to us in the UK. For this reason, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Trust us - it is utterly worth the wait!
