Old Tonbridgian (Tonbridge School)

Tonbridge is an independent boarding and day school for boys in Kent, United Kingdom.

It was founded in 1553 and it has close links with the Worshipful Company of Skinners, one of London’s oldest livery companies.

There are currently around 800 boys in the school, aged between 13 and 18.

A staggering 716 Old Tonbridgians died in total during the First and Second World Wars.

The head of school, the head Praepostor is actually allowed to graze sheep on the 1st XI cricket pitch!

Famous old boys of Tonbridge include Sir Tim Waterstone of bookshop fame, the musician Tim Rice-Oxley, the novelists E.M. Forster and Frederick Forsyth, the cricketers Sir Colin Cowdrey, Zak Crawley and Richard Ellison and rugby internationals Tom May and William Cave.

The belt has been designed in a vertical style based on the Old Tonbridgian colours of white, red and black.

All of our belts are hand beaded in Kenya by the Maasai, using an average of 6000 beads.
