Old Wellingtonian (Wellington College)

£85

Wellington College is a co-educational day and boarding independent school in Berkshire, United Kingdom, founded in 1859.

It was built as a national monument to the first Duke of Wellington in honour of whom the College is named.

A staggering 1208 former pupils lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars and the school has always had a military connection. Indeed, it originally educated only the sons of deceased British army officers.

Did you know? It was voted by The Week magazine as ‘the most forward-thinking school in the UK’ and has been awarded ‘Best Senior School in the UK’ by Tatler Magazine.

Former pupils include Rory Bremner, Robin Oakley, Sebastian Faulks, Simon Loup, Peter Snow, James Haskell, Nikolai Tolstoy, Will Western-Kaye and lately the England cricketers Tom and Sam Curran.

The belt is based on the Old Wellingtonian tie and comprises gold, brown and light blue stripes on a black background.

All of our belts are hand beaded in Kenya by the Maasai, using an average of 6000 beads.

We use the highest quality leather to ensure our belts are extremely long lasting and durable.

This belt is 1.5 inches wide.

The old Wellington College tie is not a tie at all. It’s a Manyatta belt.

DELIVERY:

We believe in being totally honest with our customers. Like a bespoke suit or pair of shoes, outstanding craftsmanship takes time. When the order is placed, the mamas in Kenya start beading your belt, utilising their cultural and ancestral skills. Once this is complete, the belt is sent to us in the UK. For this reason, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Trust us - it is utterly worth the wait!
